The FDA has second thoughts about drugs typically used in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. Apparently some people who use these drugs have inexplicable leg fractures (the thigh bone). Given FDA's dismal track record of protecting the public, I would not be surprised that the truth about bisphosphonates is worse than
what FDA reports.
Somebody in the government has lost track of that ancient admonition for physicians,
"first do no harm"
If these fractures are merely side effects of proper medicines, you may begin to wonder how such a rich and powerful nation can produce such crap and call it
medicine.
